All York Prep students must complete 23 upper-school-level credits for graduation:
- 4 in English
- 4 in Math
- 4 in Science
- 4 in History
- 4 in a World Language
- 2 in Visual/Performing Arts
- 0.5 for one year of Health
- 0.5 credit per year of Physical Education
11th- and 12th-graders choose from a selection of course offerings in every subject area. In addition to selecting one course from each required category, a student must choose an elective from a variety of options that range from the creative and performing arts to the analytical sciences.
York Prep students in grades 9 through 11 are required to carry at least five major subjects each year plus physical education. In senior year, students may carry four or five major subjects. Independent study courses may be offered.
