We are joined by Sophie Bohrer today. She is a three-sport student-athlete at York, and recently committed to run track and field in college.
Turi: Sophie, you recently committed to college to run track and field. Congratulations, tell us where you committed and why you chose the school.
Sophie: I recently committed to Ohio Wesleyan. I chose the school because I got a spot on the track team, they have a great education program, it's a great size, and has a beautiful campus and nice people.
Turi: How did you narrow your search for a school that fits you academically and athletically?
Sophie: I narrowed my search that fit me academically and athletically. It was really easy and I knew that was the place (for me). Also having the education is awesome!
Turi: What do you aspire to accomplish once you are in college?
Sophie: I aspire to accomplish getting even better at track and possibly swimming, becoming a teacher, and making lifelong relationships.
Turi: How has your experience been at York academically and athletically?
Sophie: My experience at York academically and athletically has been really good. I have gotten just the perfect amount of rigor with the academics and for athletics, I got even stronger and I am captain for the second time in a row.
Turi: What sports do you play at York?
Sophie: At York I run track and am on the swim team.
Turi: How do you balance academics and athletics?
Sophie: I balance academics and athletics by making sure my work is done during study halls and Jump Start sessions, and then going to practices (and games).
Turi: Outside of school and sports, what do you enjoy doing?
Sophie: Outside of school and sports I enjoy hanging out with friends, watching tv, my outdoor track club, and as much relaxing as possible.
